These claims sound far more plausible than the ontological claim of “there is no GOD,” since they do not deal with reality per se, but with normative epistemology by utilizing the theory of cognition and its practical application. According to this position, theoretically, GOD could exist even though no justification for such belief exists. Likewise, the flying spaghetti monster may indeed exist.

This theoretical possibility, however, does not justify belief because a rational person believes only in those things for which adequate and valid evidence exists.
